Today's post is about a cocktail called seventh heaven. I modified a recipe I found so that it's perfect for someone who likes craft cocktails made with interesting flavors but doesn't enjoy super boozy drinks. It has the perfect amount of Luxardo maraschino liquor in it, which has a very strong flavor in my opinion. To me it tastes herbal, but it's actually made with cherries, pits and all. With the correct balance, it can really add a nice touch to your cocktail. Of course the grapefruit juice in it is freshly juiced from a real grapefruit, there's no point in buying pre-juiced citrus because the flavor you get will be very different and it will ruin your drink. This is a really easy drink to make so please give it a go!
1 oz gin
2 oz grapefruit juice (freshly squeezed)
1 tsp Luxardo maraschino liquor
2 leaves of mint for the cocktail + 1 leaf for garnish
In a shaker, combine ice, gin, grapefruit juice, maraschino liquor, and mint. Shake well. Strain into a coupe and garnish with a mint leaf.
